In reviewing this final issue of this year, I started to reflect on the nature of
the research process that ideally goes from bench to bedside. As a clinical journal,
the Journal of Hand Therapy endeavors to provide high quality research that advances
the scientific foundations and clinical practice of upper extremity rehabilitation
that characterize the unique discipline of hand therapy. While clinical relevance
is an important part of the decision-making about selection of articles for publication,
we also acknowledge the importance of the entire research spectrum.
