Short Description: Although commonly used following primary flexor tendon repairs, early controlled mobilization of extra-articular hand fractures is not commonly recommended. To date, the basic scientific and clinical literatures have not addressed the clinical efficacy of this treatment option. This study examines the effect of early controlled passive motion on the quality and rate of early fracture healing in a rabbit model.
